Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 04, 2026 I Last Updated: August 04, 2026

MintCover, LLC ("MintCover," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website at www.mintcover.net (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Two kinds of information, and why the difference matters

The way privacy law applies to your information depends on why we collected it, so this policy separates your information into two buckets:

  • Insurance information. Information you give us to get a quote or apply for coverage; for example, your name, contact details, and details about the home, apartment, or risk you want to insure. Because we collect this to help provide a financial product, it is treated as "nonpublic personal information" under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA"). Our GLBA privacy notice for this information is in Section 7.

  • Website and marketing information. Information from people who browse the Site, join our waitlist, or interact with our chat or analytics, whether or not they ever request insurance. This is not collected in the course of providing insurance, so state consumer-privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") apply to it in full, including the rights described in Sections 10, 11, and 12.

Where a section applies to only one bucket, we say so.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information we actually need. We do not collect health information, and we do not collect Social Security numbers or driver's license numbers.

Insurance information. When you use the Site to get a quote or apply, we collect information such as your name, email, phone number, mailing/property address, and details about the property or risk to be insured. If you choose to upload a document (such as a rental agreement, current policy, or coverage offer), our tools extract only the specific data points needed for the analysis; we do not create or keep a full copy of the document, and information we do not need is not retained. (See Section 6 on document uploads.)

Website and marketing information. When you visit the Site, join the waitlist, or interact with our chat or voice assistant, we collect information such as your email address (if you provide it), messages you send us, and technical and usage information (for example, device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and general analytics). See Section 8 for cookies and analytics.

3. Where we get it

We collect information (a) directly from you when you enter it, upload a document, join the waitlist, or communicate with us; and (b) automatically through cookies and analytics as described in Section 8.

4. How we use information

We use information to: respond to your requests and provide quotes; place coverage with insurance companies (for the products where we act as your broker); generate your Coverage Protection Score; analyze uploaded documents to help you understand potential coverage gaps; operate, secure, and improve the Site; communicate with you, including waitlist and newsletter emails you have asked to receive; and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use uploaded documents for any purpose other than the analysis you requested.

5. How we share information

To provide quotes and place your coverage. For products where we act as your broker, we share the information you provide with insurance carriers and with the third-party market-access platforms that connect us to those carriers who use it to underwrite, quote, and service your coverage. These platforms are intermediaries that route your placement to carriers; they are not insurance companies.

When you use an affiliate link (referral products). For renters and pet insurance we offer affiliate links to insurance carriers, and for life insurance an affiliate link to our partner. These referrals happen only when you click through to be redirected. We do not hand your information to affiliate partners or our life insurance partner. If you proceed on their website, you provide information directly to them, and their privacy policy governs it. If you purchase through our affiliate link, we may receive referral/affiliate compensation from insurance carriers or our life insurance partner. (We disclose this compensation so you understand our relationship, see Section 11.)

Service providers. We use vetted service providers to run the Site and our operations, for example, hosting and infrastructure, workflow automation, email delivery, and our AI voice and chat tools (including providers such as Supabase, Vercel, Make, Resend, ConvertKit, Telnyx, ElevenLabs, Framer, and Google). Each is bound by a data processing agreement and may use your information only to perform services for us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale.

We do not sell your insurance information for money. Whether any of our website/marketing activities count as a "sale" or "sharing" under state law is addressed in Section 11.

6. Uploaded documents

Uploading a document is optional. When you upload, our tools, which use artificial intelligence, extract only the specific data points needed for your analysis (for example, coverage limits or property details). We do not fully digitize, recreate, or store complete copies of your documents, and material we do not need is not retained. You are responsible for the documents you choose to upload and for confirming that any extracted information is accurate. Please do not upload sensitive information you do not wish to share.

7. GLBA Privacy Notice (insurance information)

This notice applies to the nonpublic personal information we collect when we act as your broker for renters, pet, condo, professional liability, errors-and-omissions, homeowners, and other agent-assisted property-and-casualty products. It does not apply to products you buy through one of our affiliate links: if you click through to insurance carriers or our life insurance partner, you contract with them directly, and their privacy notices govern the information you give them.

We provide this notice when you request a quote or apply for coverage, and in any event no later than the time we place your policy.

Why? Insurance producers collect and share personal information to run their everyday business here, to obtain quotes and to place and service your coverage.

What? The types of nonpublic personal information we collect include your name and contact details, mailing/property address, and information about the property or risk to be insured. We collect it from you and from public records. We do not collect health information or Social Security numbers.

How? To provide the coverage you request, we share this information with insurance carriers and with the market-access platforms that connect us to carriers, so they can underwrite, quote, and service your policy. We share only what is needed for these purposes.

Can you limit this sharing? The sharing described above is done to provide the insurance products and services you request and is generally permitted without a separate opt-out under GLBA. We do not share your insurance information with non-affiliated third parties for their own marketing.

Can you see and correct what we hold? Yes. You may ask us for access to the personal information we have recorded about you in connection with an insurance transaction, and ask us to correct, amend, or delete anything you believe is inaccurate. Write to us at the address below and we will respond as required by law.

Questions? Contact us at legal@mintcover.net or MintCover, LLC, 61 Linton St, #2400, Woodstock, GA 30188.

8. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand and improve how people use the Site. Our current tools are: Google Analytics, which sets cookies to provide usage analytics; Framer Analytics, which is cookieless; and ConvertKit, which we use to capture waitlist and newsletter email sign-ups. We do not currently use third-party advertising pixels (such as Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, or TikTok pixels) or upload contact lists to build advertising audiences. A banner on the Site notifies you of these technologies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

9. How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it:

  • Website and marketing information. We keep this only as long as it is useful for the purpose we collected it for. If you asked to receive our newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe or opt out of text messages, we keep a minimal record so that we don't contact you again.

  • Insurance information. As a licensed insurance producer, we are required to keep records of insurance transactions for a period set by state insurance law. We keep this information for at least that period, and then securely dispose of it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses. You can:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email.

  • Exercise privacy rights by contacting us at legal@mintcover.net. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond as required by applicable law. Certain information may be exempt from these requests, for example, insurance information we are required to keep.

11. California residents (CCPA/CPRA) and referral disclosure

This section applies to the website and marketing information described in Section 1. Insurance information is largely exempt from the CCPA because it is regulated under GLBA.

Your California rights. Where these rights apply to you, and subject to verification and to legal exceptions, you may request to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you; know the categories of sources and the purposes for collecting it; access or receive a copy of it; correct it; and delete it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact legal@mintcover.net.

Categories we collect. Identifiers (such as email address and IP address) and internet/network activity (such as usage and device information). We do not collect sensitive personal information in this bucket, and we do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or health information anywhere.

"Sale" or "sharing." MintCover does not sell personal information for money, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently use third-party advertising or affiliate tracking technologies on the Site such as the Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, or TikTok pixels, and we do not upload contact lists to advertising platforms to build audiences. When you click one of our affiliate links, that redirect happens only because you chose it, and we do not transfer to insurance carriers or our life insurance partner the information you gave us. If we ever begin using advertising technologies whose use could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable law, we will update this section before we do so and will activate an opt-out control.

Opt-out preference signals. If you have a legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal turned on, such as Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information, in accordance with applicable law.

Asking us not to disclose your information. Although we do not believe our current practices involve a "sale" or "sharing," you may ask us not to disclose your personal information for those purposes at any time by emailing legal@mintcover.net. We will honor your request.

When you ask us for a quote. When you enter your information to request a quote, you are directing us to share it with insurance carriers and market-access platforms to retrieve your quotes. That user-directed sharing is not a "sale" or "share" under the CCPA. A short notice to this effect appears at the quote form.

Referral-compensation disclosure (FTC). When we link you to an insurance carrier or our life insurance partner through an affiliate link, we may earn referral or affiliate compensation if you buy. We disclose this so our relationship is clear to you.

12. Other state privacy rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer-privacy law (for example, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and others as they take effect), you may have rights similar to those in Section 11 such as the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact legal@mintcover.net. As with California, these rights generally apply to marketing information; insurance information regulated under GLBA is typically exempt.

13. AI-powered tools and text messages

MintCover uses AI-powered tools to assist you: an automated voice assistant ("Minty") and a website chat assistant. Conversations with these tools may be processed by third-party service providers, including our telephony and voice providers, that are contractually bound to handle information securely and to use it only to provide the service.

Text messages. If you call us and schedule an appointment, we use your mobile number to send you a confirmation and meeting link by text. These messages are sent through our telephony provider acting as our service provider. We keep a record of your scheduling request, your text-message consent, and your opt-out status for as long as we need it to service the relationship and to demonstrate compliance, and for at least four years afterward. We do not send marketing text messages. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging opt-in data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, and we will honor that request within ten business days.

Please do not share sensitive information you do not wish to disclose through these tools.

14. How we protect information

We maintain commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, and we use service providers selected for their security practices, each under a data processing agreement. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Third-party websites

The Site links to third-party websites, including affiliates, partners, insurance companies, and market-access platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy practices. When you follow a link and leave the Site, that third party's privacy policy applies. Please review it.

16. Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals; there is no common industry standard for responding to them, and the Site does not currently respond to them. Where required by law, we will honor recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals with respect to the website/marketing information in bucket 2.

17. Children's privacy

The Site and our services are intended for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (consistent with COPPA). In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us by e-mail legal@mintcover.net. Some states set higher age thresholds; where they apply, we honor them.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and we will provide additional notice where required by law. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
